Patricia Sappor is the Head of Corporate Communications at Ecobank, Ghana and Anglophone West Africa (AWA). In her role, she is responsible for Communications in Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Gambia and Guinea.

Starting her career at the now defunct Bank for Housing and Construction, Mrs. Sappor joined the bank and handled customer complaints, enquiries and conducting investigations before joining the Accounts Department and Adabraka branch where she was a loans officer.

After more than a decade at the bank, she sojourned to the United Kingdom where she studied at City Banking College U.K, one of the world’s most prestigious banking colleges, from 1991-1995.

While studying Banking in the UK, she had a working experience with Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC), where she was trained in customer service and rose to become a customer service manager in one of its outlets in London. Upon graduating from the university, she became an Associate Member of the Institute of Financial Studies, U.K, in 1995.

On her return to Ghana, she was engaged by Ecobank as customer service expert to establish the bank’s Customer Service department. In the lead up to the integration between Ecobank Ghana and the erstwhile Trust Bank, she was engaged as the Post Integration Manager. In that role, she led the seamless integration of the two institutions.

After a decade of pioneering excellence in customer services, Rev. Pat was tasked with setting up one of its major branches of the bank at Osu. Due to her impressive communication skills and verve for customer service, she made Osu one of the best performing branches.

Her exemplary performance and achievements were so recognised that the Ecobank Group decided to engage her expertise in reshaping the entire group’s customer service and   elevated her to the position of Group Head of Customer Service, ensuring a positive Customer Experience across the 26 countries in Africa where Ecobank was present at the time.

She has proven expertise and rich experience in Branch Banking, Operations, Risk management, Treasury, Trade Services, and Customer Relations.

In 2008, Patricia was awarded a fellow of the Chartered institute of Bankers (Ghana) after obtaining her Associate Banker status with the Institute of Financial Services in the UK in 1995.

She is an alumnus of the University of Leicester, U.K, where she graduated with MBA (Finance Option).  She also holds a diploma in Public Relations and Reputational Management with the London School of Public Relations.

Patricia is the first female President of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (CIB) Ghana.

Profile: Adiki Ayitevie, Senior Dir., Comms & External Relations, Newmont Africa

AdikiAdiki Ayitevie is one of Ghana’s foremost communications experts in the mining industry.

She is currently the Senior Director, Communications & External Relations, Newmont Africa. In her role, she is the primary voice of the company and also provides strategic counsel to executive and senior management team to ensure the continuing development and maintenance of Newmont’s social license to operate in Ghana.

She holds substantial experience in providing internal and external communications solutions and has had working experience at varied industries including the utility and financial industries.

Before joining Newmont in 2007, she was responsible for external communications and later, the communications and market research services of SG-SSB Limited. She was also an award-wining journalist with the acclaimed advocacy newspaper, Public Agenda.

Adiki has also worked as a Senior Information Officer in the publications and media relations units of the Volta River Authority.

In 2016, she was recognized as one of the 100 Global Inspirational Women in Mining. In an industry still dominated by men, colleagues know her as an outstanding strategist in the area of mining communications and external affairs, and a strong role model for women.

Profile: Elaine Sam Kwami, President, IPR-Ghana

Elaine Sam Kwami is a private management consultant and a multi-skilled professional with rich experience in the areas of journalism, public and community relations and human resource practice, spanning over 30 years.

She started as a reporter and later Women’s page editor of Ghanaian Times and was runner-up to the Journalist of the Year award. Elaine later worked in senior positions as Public Relations and Human Resource Manager within the UAC of Ghana group (now Unilever).

As Public Relations Manager for the erstwhile Ashanti Goldfields, her passion for a strong internal PR led to the creation of the Community Relations desk in the department to strengthen communications with the several communities dotted on the concession.This practice was soon adopted by many other mining companies.

She played a key role in raising PR practice from Departmental to Divisional level in Ashanti. She was later appointed Senior Manager (Administration) and then General Manager (Human Resources), where she championed various initiatives in HIV/AIDS and malaria control. Both of these earned the company international recognition, receiving the “Amsterdam Diner” award and commendation from the BBC.

Following the merger with AngloGold, Elaine was appointed Community Services Coordinator for the West Africa Region. She was a member of the team that was contracted by the Public Sector Reform to gather data for the implementation of the Single Spine Salary Structure.

Elaine was the Group Manager, Public Affairs for Golden Star Resources Ltd and also a board member. She is very passionate about the community and women empowerment, and would like to see a lot more done to enhance life in the districts in order to stem the tide urban migration.

Akosua Kwafo Ogyiri is a communications professional with about seven years work experience covering public and private sector. She is currently a Senior Communications Officer at Strategic Communications (Stratcomm) Africa

Before her engagement at Stratcomm Africa, she was Media Executive at  Charterhouse Ghana, where was in charge of building and maintaining relationships with media practitioners across the various media space and monitoring and evaluating the execution of media (social media and traditional media) campaigns such as the MTN Hitmaker and Miss Malaika.

Carmen Bruce-Annan describes herself as a Communication game-changer and employee engagement fan.

Faith Senam Ocloo is a Fashion Public Relations Specialist. She is also the founder of E’april Public Relations, a boutique PR firm which develops and executes PR and brand strategies for emerging and established brands within the fashion, beauty and lifestyle industry.
